The Biloxi Indians, coming off a 27-6 victory over the George County Rebels last week in Lucedale, are now preparing for a busy month of October.
This Friday night, Oct. 5, the Indians will host Ocean Springs at 7 p.m. Note the times for October and November kickoffs have shifted to 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m.
Both the Indians and Greyhounds are 1-1 in region play and will be fighting to stay in the race for the Region 4 6A title and keeping their hopes alive for hosting a playoff game. We need your support, so please make every effort to be at the game this Friday night.
Friday will be Military Appreciation Night and anyone wearing their Military uniform will be admitted to the game for free. Other family members will be required to pay $6 at the gate.
It will also be North Bay Elementary Night and all students at North Bay Elementary will be given a ticket to the game, which will allow them to come to the game free with a paying adult.
The Indians will also remember a long-time Biloxi Indian, Mark Barhanovich, who tragically lost his life in a boating accident last month. The Indians will release red and white balloons at the start of the game in memory and honor of Mark.
Next Friday night, Oct. 12, the Indians will host St. Martin for Homecoming. The game begins at 7 p.m., but the Biloxi Homecoming activities take place before the game, so plan to arrive early.
October 12 will also be Jeff Davis Elementary Night. All students at Jeff Davis Elementary will be given a ticket to the game, which will allow them to enter for free, with a paying adult.
On Friday night, Oct. 19, the Indians will travel to Harrison Central for their only road game during October. The kickoff for this game is 7 p.m.
The Indians will close out the month of October by playing their third home game of the month on Friday, Oct. 26, when they host Hancock at 7 p.m.
This will be Senior Night and the Indians will recognize the 2012 Senior football players, cheerleaders, dance team members, and band members.
This will also be Popp's Ferry Elementary Night and all students at Popp's Ferry Elementary will be given a ticket to the game, which will allow them to enter for free, with a paying adult.
The month of October, by the way, is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and on Friday, Oct. 26, the Indians will recognize cancer survivors and release pink balloons at the game.
