Public schools in Biloxi -- except for Biloxi High School -- will hold another "2nd Cup of Coffee" session Friday morning at schools throughout the district.
“Second Cup of Coffee is an informal time to come by and visit with principals and other school personnel to build relationships and keep lines of communication open," said Dr. Janice Wilson, director of elementary school curriculum and federal programs.
Times will vary at each school, since school days begin at different times, but parents will be notified through Connect-Ed messages.
Biloxi High School, where staffers will be preparing for Friday night's telecast of the Biloxi vs. Gulfport football game, will schedule "2nd Cup of Coffee" for a later date.
Biloxi-Gulfport game to be on TV Friday
Friday night's Biloxi-Gulfport high school football game, the latest chapter in one of the most-storied rivalries in the state, will be telecast live across Mississippi and in Memphis as part of Cellular South "Y'all vs. Us" series.
The 7:20 p.m. game will be carried on WLOX in South Mississippi; WLBT.2 Channel 3 in Jackson; WLOV.2 Channel 27 in Tupelo;
MyTOK.2 Channel 11 in Meridian; WDAM Channel 7 in Hattiesburg; WMC.2 Channel 5 in Memphis; and EABG.2 Channel 6 in Greenwood.
Breakfast rivalry: Biloxi football coaches and fans will join with their counterparts from Gulfport for breakfast at the Ole Biloxi Schooner beginning at 7:15 on Friday morning. Said Biloxi Athletic Director Tom Gladney: "Obviously, being in Biloxi and at the restaurant of former Biloxi High School people, we would like to think we would have more people there than Gulfport! Please help us spread the word about the breakfast Friday morning at 7:15 a.m. and be at the Ole Biloxi Schooner Restaurant."
