BJHS Junior Beta Students Attend National Convention
Biloxi Jr. High's Junior Beta Club attended its first National
Convention June 23-25th in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theme for the
event was "Let the Beta Times Roll!" The group earned invitations
earlier at the state convention to compete in the Book Battle, Essay,
Technology, Special Talent, Art Sketching, and Mathematics competitions.
Bringing home Top 10 honors were Esmond Tsang in Mathematics and Olivia
Grammar in Essay. Advancing to final round and placing Top 8 nationally
was Piper Lind in Special Talent.
Delegates in attendance were as follows: Abby Butera, Lauren Clarke, Eboni Clay, Nathan Cook, Olivia Grammar, Mila Griffith, Riley Jackson, Piper Lind, Amis McMillan, Taylor McRaney, Tina Nguyen, Peyton Parker, Addie Grace Pyron, Brikley Spencer and Esmond Tsang. Sponsors chaperoning the trip were Alisia McMillan, Elizabeth McLeod, Jennifer Cook and Shannon Pearson.

Beside attending four general sessions and competitions, the group
enjoyed the National Beta Ball and various cultural events throughout
the city including a tour of Mardi Gras World and dining in famous
Jackson Square.
